About Me

Born in 1983, I, Ribhu Sanyal, have been immersed in the world of Dhrupad music since my early years, a journey that started under the influence of the late Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar. My father, Pandit Ritwik Sanyal, a renowned Dhrupad exponent himself, became my first guru, guiding me from the tender age of eight. This blend of a disciplined home environment and innate passion for music set the foundation for my life-long dedication to Dhrupad.

Balancing the artistic and academic worlds, I pursued software engineering while nurturing my musical talent. My formal education in music includes a Senior Diploma in Vocal Music from the Faculty of Performing Arts at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and a Graduate Diploma from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. These academic pursuits were paralleled by continuous practice in the Alap Dhrupad and Dhamar genres under my father's tutelage. Currently residing in Bangalore, India, I serve as a engineer by profession. However, my heart and soul remain deeply rooted in music.

I have had the privilege of performing as a Dhrupad soloist across India and sharing the stage with my illustrious father on numerous prestigious platforms.
